On this 2-days camping safari you will visit the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, with either Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park depending on which will be selling better viewing of animals at that particular time. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you immerse in Africa’s breath-taking nature and wildlife.
You will be picked from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and after a short briefing you will travel to Lake Manyara a small National Park west of Arusha region. The park has shallow alkaline waters from Lake Manyara and is known for its bird species that exceeds 400. Besides the primate-filled forests known for the long-tailed Guenon monkeys and the grassy plains, that support to varieties of herbivorous and the carnivorous as well, it is one of the best hot spot to explore. Apart from elephants, you might also spot giraffes, hippos, wildebeests and impalas while the forests near the lake are teeming with noisy groups of monkeys and baboons. From the pop-up roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to absorb the sights and sounds of nature. In the late afternoon, you will leave Lake Manyara National Park and head to Karatu, where you will spend the night at a selected Camp.
After breakfast, your safari continues to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the world’s largest caldera, a feature formed by the collapse of land after a volcanic eruption. It is approximately 18 km in diameter and home to about 25,000 mammals. In this relatively small area you can find almost all the mammals of East Africa ranging from Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles to mountain reedbucks in the forests on the slopes. Also, Hyenas with some 500-bird species can be spotted in the area. It is also possible to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard in the few hours spent in the crater. After lunch at a picnic spot you will leave the crater and return to Moshi/Arusha in the evening.
The tours are scheduled to depart on Daily basis. However, circumstances like clients’ arrival time, activities to be done and clients preference could affect the program. Our company is flexible for such arrangements and adjustments. Normally the program starts around 8:00 AM.
The tour depends with the itinerary. We end all our safaris at the airport or at the Hotels either in Arusha or Moshi town where our clients may have wished for their drop-off. However, our travel specialists will need to know your specific drop-off point prior to the safari to get aligned with the program
Yes of course, We arrange airport transfers for our clients at an extra cost of $50 per vehicle. Normally, the drafted itineraries have excluded the transfers before and after safari. We however advise you to give prior information to our travel specialists before boarding your flight to Tanzania.
Yes of course, We arrange for accommodation when requested by our clients at an extra cost depending with the accommodation level they will prefer to stay in. Normally, the drafted itineraries have excluded the accommodations before and after safari because not all clients will wish to stay in our specific accommodation choices. For any accommodation bookings, remember to give us prior information of the comfort level you would prefer and we shall advice which hotels will suit you best before we get all confirmations on program.
